Kenneth R. Boiarsky is Of Counsel at Ayar Law, where he provides support to individuals and business owners throughout the United States in IRS audits, collection matters, and federal tax litigation.
Kenneth started his career in 1969 as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Tax Division in Washington, D.C., and later became a senior trial attorney. During his 14 years with the Division, he litigated 33 cases to completion and settled or otherwise resolved 55 others, with more than $800 million at issue in total. In 1982, the Assistant Attorney General for the Tax Division selected him to lead a study of the government's investment tax credit ruling and audit practices.
Kenneth entered private practice in 1983 and later added a focus on IRS collection matters. He also represented more than 100 Ernst & Young consulting partners in IRS proceedings and federal tax litigation arising from the 2000 sale of the firm's consulting business.
Kenneth studied accounting before law school, and his years on the government's side give him a working knowledge of how the IRS and DOJ evaluate a tax case.
